How to choose your Lethbridge photographer for your wedding day.

You recently got engaged and are looking for the perfect lethbridge wedding photographer to cover one of the most important days of your life.
The selection can be overwhelming, to say the least. Photographer styles can range from light and airy, dark and moody, muted tones, brown tones, vibrant and colorful, and everything in between.

Here are 3 tips to help you pick the perfect photographer in Alberta to photograph your wedding.

1.
Find a Style that you love.
look around there are so many talented professional photographers.
This even includes destination weddings. Did you know you can bring a destination wedding photographer to your wedding in Mexico, Los Cobos, or any other country? They recommend the resort photographer but the choice is yours.

Some resorts do have rules around this , you may need to contact your resort. Some charge a fee while others as long as your photographer is staying at the hotel they do not. There are a few however who will not allow any photographers from anywhere else so this is something you may want to look into before booking the venue.

2. Meet your photographer.
this person is spending the entire day with you and you want the day and your professional relationship to flow.
My photography style requires me to evoke emotion in my couples, sometimes by making them do things that are out of their comfort zone, often this results in someone crying or laughing. These are the emotions I need to capture candid styled wedding photography, however, if your not comfortable with your photographer it may be difficult to get into the moment.

I also like to do fun games to get the group laughing or even just an icebreaker. All of these require trust in your photographer and this is why its important to be comfortable with them.
My Style is a combination of candid and posed, I spend time getting to know my couple and this helps us plan whether they want candid photos, romantic photos, fun pictures, or completely out-of-this-world creative photos.

3. Plan a budget – but dont sacrifice your photos.
If you find someone you love but they are out of the planned budget consider booking them for fewer hours. What pictures do you plan on hanging? What pictures are most important? You want to find someone who won’t break your wedding day budget but keep in mind that someone with experience means you won’t sacrifice your photos. The biggest regret brides have is not spending the money on a photographer. The day goes quickly and most of it is hard to remember, your photos are the only thing you have after your wedding day to look back on.
There are other things to consider when hiring a photographer, do they have insurance to cover any incidents that could occur? do they have a business license? some places will ask a photographer to leave if they don’t produce proof. Do they have a contract in case something happens? you don’t want to be left without a photographer. Do they have backup gear in case something fails in the middle of your ceremony?
Budget is significant but so is your wedding day, it is one of the most important days of your life. Your photos will be the most important detail over any other detail throughout the day because it’s the only thing you will have to look back on decades later.

I hope this helps a little bit in the planning part and even if im not the right photographer for you Im always happy to answer questions or steer you in the direction you are hoping to be in. Remember its your wedding day , the world is your oyster you can do what ever you want!
Happy planning
